"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

information via e-mail instead of a Certified mail/Post-mail. This is
due to the urgency and importance of the information.I humbly crave
your indulgence to read this e-mail with all seriousness of purpose
devoid of any doubt in your mind because this project is based on
trust,confidentiality and sincerity of purpose in order to have an
acceptable meeting of the minds. I am a fifty two(52)years old
established lawyer,here in Nigeria.

my name is John Williams, a solicitor and personal attorney to an
expatraite,and a consultant with the Nigeria biggest oil company
{Shell}. A national of your country who died in Tsunami disaster on
december 2004 while on vacation in Thailand.My client and his
wife arrived Thailand on 24th of december 2004 for their vacation
holiday before the ugly disaster On 26th of december 2004.Him and his
wife were involved in the Indian Ocean Tsunami disaster. Since after
his death,I have tried my best to locate any of my clients extended
relatives up till date but has proved unsuccessful as he past away
without leaving any written WILL.

Before his sudden death he deposited with a private bank here in
Nigeria a sum of {12.5 million us dollors and this amount has since
then remain unclaimed. The bank has issued me a notice as the personal
lawyer/adviser to the Deceased to provide his next of kin or have the
account confiscate within the next 14 official working days since I
have been unsuccessful in locating any of his relatives,by this order,I
decided to contact you for a deal so that we can work together to
remit the money to your account as my client next of kin since you
bear the same last name like him and also of the same country.Although
I know that a transaction of this magnitude might make anyone
apprehensive,I would like to assure you that I am proposing this
roject to you with the best of intensions.

As a lawyer, I have the power to secure all the necessary legal
documents that will be used for this claim. All I require from you is
your honest co-operation to enable us see this deal through. I
guarantee that this transaction will be executed under a legitimate
banking arrangement that will protect you from any breach of law. On
successful conclusion of this project,you will be compensated with 40%
of the total fund,while 60% will be for me.I await your urgent reply
with your personal telephone/fax number for effective communication
and oral clarification.
