"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Sir,

I write to acknowledge the receipt of your mail and its content noted.

I want to correct some mistakes you have me making by addressing me as madam, I am a man and not a woman, please.

Quite true that you will need the scan copies of the flight and train tickets from you and my communication to you when I arrive Amsterdam. I want you to understand that I only ask my Travel Agent to book for a flight ticket in advance for me pending when I will mobilization fees from you so that I can be able to pay for them.

I cannot ask them to give a ticket that I have not paid for and you do understand this. I was hoping that you send give me some money for mobilization to start with and I will pay for the tickets and send you scanned copies of them for your perusal. it is quite unfortunate that you are sounding this way, I believe that there should be a measure of trust between an Attorney and Client as there is basis I should lie to you.

I was at the hospital to see Mrs. Joy Anu and she complained that you wrote to her about the amount of money I am asking from you. I want you to understand one factor we lawyer use that you don't know. When you go to any Law Firm for some thing, they will charge you outrageousless not that they want you to pay all that money, but it will be left for you to let them know that you can't pay such amount and that you are willing to pay a certain amount which you have in mind.

My asking you to pay Fifty Thousand Dollars does not mean that I want you to just give me the money immediately I demanded for it, you as a Client have to tell me that you would pay a certain amount of money for the mobilization and when I have done my job for you then you will give me what comes out of your mind. I am no Shylock in one of Shakespear stories that I will want to put you in a tight condition for nothing, I am human and I do as my other colleagues in this Honourable Profession does all the time and I want you to know that I never intended any harm by doing so.

As I have explained to you in my previous mail and this also, I need to stress the fact that though I have asked my Travel Agent to book for a flight ticket for me, he will be waiting for me to send the ticket fares across to him before he releases the flight tickets to me. He was the one who advised me about travel from Lagos to Holland and board a train to London as I was hoping to have a direct flight to London from here and it did not occur to me what was going on at London Airport was going to affect my direct flight and certainly, I must send you a mail or call you when I arrive at Amsterdam and also in London, where I will make a call to you when I will be meeting with the bankers.

I insist that you let me know how much you can give to me as money for mobilization outting together my trip to various government agencies to get some legal documents and my trip to London via Amsterdam (Holland). I really want my Chambers to work for you because I know what this means to Mrs. Joy Anu.

I look forward to working in harmony with you as there are no basis for us to start exchanging words because of this issue. Thanking you for your kind understanding and anticipated cooperation.

Yours in service,

Christopher Alima (SAN)
