"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Kindest Attention

Kindest Attention:

My name is Mr. Richard Moore; I am 55 years old man from Dublin Ireland but
resident in Manchester – United Kingdom for the past 25years. I am married
with two children. My wife and children died in a car accident two years ago
while on holiday in Egypt. Since I have no children of my own and immediate
relatives, I decided to ask for your help in this project. I have been
helping orphans and children in orphanage homes by donating money and other
valuable items to them around the world.

Presently, I am receiving intensive treatment in a private hospital in the
UK. My doctors told me that I have cancer of the lungs and that I have two
months to live. Before I became ill, I saved some money (US$7.350,000
million dollars) from the sales of my real estates, gulf court and some
funds I inherited from my wealthy late parents and these funds have since
been deposited in cash consignments with a trust finance/security company in
London.

I beg you in the name of God and by this letter nominate you as my partner
and the new beneficiary to help me collect these cash consignments (funds)
from the finance/security company (Capital Trust Securities & Deposit
Company). After the collection of the cash consignments (funds), you will
donate on my behalf part of the funds to charity/orphanage homes in the
United States, Europe, Asia and Africa. The word of God says “what will
shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and lose his own soul”.
This is the sweat of my labour and the struggle of my life.

I believe you can be trusted for this task for the service to humanity and
glory to God. I authorize you to take 25% of the total sum for you and your
family to touch many lives around the world. If you are willing to carry out
this project, please mail me so that I will give you the contact details of
the security company and the necessary information regarding this project so
that you can contact them for the claim. I need your help as I have no
immediate relative I can entrust this project to. I know you will be
surprise to receive this mail as I do not know you physically but desperate
problem deserves desperate solutions thus I got your contact from the
internet during my search for a reliable person I can entrust this project
to and I decided to make contact with you.

I await your positive and urgent response

Yours faithfully,

Mr. Richard Moore
