"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Sir,

I write with great trust and confidence as someone to be trusted considering
your level of
integrity. Let me first introduce myself to you.

My name is MRS EUNICE BAKER, presently the Secretary General of a panel of
inquiry set up by
the Obasanjo Government of federal republic of Nigeria to investigate
allegation of
dublicity and overinvoicing of contracts by the former military regime in
the Nigerian
National Petroleum Cooperation {NNPC).

In the course of our investigation, we discovered that there were lots and
lots of flaws in
these contract award, which was beyond the imagination of every Nigerian
even including the
President himself. During the time of this investigation we discovered a
paticular contract

that was worth $1.162Billion which was overinflated to the tune of
$180Million. We have been

able to
rectify these flaws and paid the contractors their dues.

This sum of $180M is left in the suspense account with the Central Bank of
Nigeria waiting
to be claimed as an outstanding payment to a company that has executed a
contract with
contract in formation thus: NO:FGN/NNPC/LNG-PED1025-97 FUND SECURITY
NO:CBN000CC38.
Due majorly to the politacal situation in Nigeria as a result of the
unfortunate bid by the
President for a third term in office the failure of which was masterminded
by the Vice
President, and which is presently coursing some political situation
attention has been
diverted from this.

Thus the members of the committee has unanimously decided that the above
mentioned fund be
shared equally among members. But since this money has to be paid into a
foreign account
from the CBN we solicit your cooperation and assistancewith and unflinching
faith that you
would not betray us but to help transfer this fund into your account.

To enable us put claims and invoice for payment into your account, we would
require that you
email the following information to us:

1. YOUR FULL NAME AND ADDRESS.

2. YOUR PRIVATE PHONE AND FAX NUMBER TO REACH YOU DURING AND AFTER BUSINESS
HOUR.

3. YOUR COMPANY'S NAME AND ADDRESS.

4. THE BANK AND ACCOUNT NUMBER WHERE THE MONEY WILL BE PAID INTO.

We have also decided that the sharing will follow this format. You are
entitled to 25%
while I and my colleagues would share 70% amongst us and the remaining 5%
will be used to
offset any cost that may arise during the course of the transaction.

Be rest assured that we have put everything in place to make sure that this
transaction will
be completed within seven Banking days from the day the above information is
received. Also
note that the information requested would be used for the purpose of their
demand.

Yours Faithfully

MRS EUNICE BAKER
