"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: DEAREST BROTHER FAUSTINO ABAD YOUR ATTENTION IS NEEDED URGENTLY.

Dearest Brother Faustino Abad,

I thank you for your response to my mail and i hope that we can be able
work together to achieve this great success that is about to come our way i
have read your mail.

Let me start by re-introducing my self, i am Mr. Wery Bright, i am 58
years old and have known the late Mr. Roy .J. Abad since the past years, i
meet him in the Niger delta area and i was the personal assistant of his
stay in Nigeria after his works as an oil contractor, i retired from been
his personal assistant and he was our major oil contractor.

I am contacting you based on three things 1) that possibly you may be
related to my late friend. 2) Because you have the same last name with my
friend Roy. 3) Because i need a foreigner who has the same last name with my
late friend and who will assist me and otherwise so that the proceeds of Roy
.J. Abad estate valued at $5.5millions of dollars be paid to you then we can
share this fund among our selves than to leave this money to be confiscated
by the bank as my late friend does not have any known next of kin at the
time of his death on the 22nd October 2005 in a plane crash here in Nigeria.

I understand that you are not really related to him. i thank you very
much for your sincerity and your honesty as such i feel more relaxed to
involve you in this humble transaction that can turn our lives and that of
our families around.

After all my efforts to locate any members of Roys extended family proved
abortive i decided that i will find any foreigner that has the same last
name of my friend so that we can come together and humbly secure and
transfer this fund out of Nigeria to any account you shall nominate to the
bank.

Please i insist that this transaction should be made legal and as such we
shall engage the service of a reputable attorney here in Nigeria that will
move and establish you as the bona-fide next of kin to my late friend as you
have the same last name with Roy and as such obtain the necessary legal
documents that will back up the claim and thereby facilitate the transfer of
fund to any account you shall nominate to the bank, although this will cost
us some money but i believe that it will be the only cost of engaging the
services of an attorney and the arrangement of the much needed legal
document.

I do not know you but i do not have any option than to trust you hoping
that you will not sit on this fund when it is transferred to your account.

I am assuring you that this transaction will be over in the shortest time
as we have the services of a reputable attorney who will solicit on our
behalf by establishing you as the beneficiary of the fund legally in all the
concerned offices here in Nigeria where this claim should be registered. So,
that all legitimate arrangement will be made to protect us from any breach
of the law.

Please i require utmost confidentiality of this humble transaction at all
times, as this will guarantee the success of this transaction.

I will attach my pictures in the nest email so that you can know me and my
family, Please if you have pictures let me see so that i can see whom i am
dealing with is well my dear. Please i need your contact number so that we
can speak over this issue and for a better trust to be established between
you and me.

Yours sincerely,
Mr. Wery Bright.
