Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

• The following phrases in this message should put you on alert:
  • "dear friend" (a common phrase found in 419 scams)
  • "cheque " (Beware of any scheme that involves cashing checks or money orders and then wiring a portion of the funds somewhere - you'll be liable for the entire amount if the checks or money orders turn out to be fake, even after you have received and forwarded cash)
• This email message is a "New Partner from Paraguay" scam.
• This email lists free webmail addresses. Use of such addresses is typical for scams. Lotteries, banks and any but the smallest of companies do not normally use such addresses. Criminals use them to anonymously send and receive email at Internet cafes.

me in transferring those funds despite that it failed us some how and
Iam sorry for what happened last year.

Now contact my secretary in Benin her name is Mrs Dukpa Nado, and her
email address is ( mrs_nedo@yahoo.fr) ask her to send you the Bank
Draft, total sum of S$30.000.which I kept for your compensation for all the
past efforts and attempts to assist me in this matter and not to let
the bank to be awere of any kind about the deal . I appreciated your
efforts at that time very much. so feel free and get in touched with my
