"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dearest Waggen,

I am very very sorry for the late response to your mail, since all this while I have been sick, that is why I don't have accese to my mail box, meanwhile I thank you somuch for your mail, I write in respect to your response to me. I have only requested for your sincere and honest assistance to help me in the claim of this trunk box, for movement and investment of this money left behind by my late father Dr. Thomas Vilam.

I got your contact on my search in world chamber of commerce I decided to confide in you which I believe that you will not disappoint me nor betraye me by disappearing with the money immediately we have it moved out of this country as my entire life and future lies solely on the money.

Firstly, I have to let you know that am in the refugee camp which for my security reasons why I had to move in there. Secondly,the trunk is in the security company in Abidjan, which is about 790km from the camp.

All I need now is for you to come down here and help me retrieve this trunk box containing the money from the security company considering the political crisis here which possess a great risk to it, as am faced with the fear of losing it being the reason why I have requested that you come here for us to meet face to face first and to familiarise ourselves before going together to the security company for this claim, which you have to open a bank account in any of the international banks of your choice here where we shall lodge the entire money after retrieving it from the security company for transfer to your account where ever safe, which I cannot do considering my age.

I intend living here immediately this is done as the war here possess a great danger to my life. I intend you helping me with the investment of this money into some lucrative business which you are acquainted with as I intend completing my education. I will also like to build a memorial in honour of my parent which all this will depend on your advice.

I want you to also bear in mind that the security company does not know the true content of the trunk box to contain cash, rather was declared as containing art craft for export.

I will like you to confirm from the security company for your verification and confirmation of this deposit and also to proceed on the claim as the beneficiary, since the company has my name as the named next of kin of this deposit and they heard from the news on the death of my father years back, but I have not contacted them since then because of the crisis and all what I have going through. Please as soon as I hear from you I will send to you the contact of the company and you can call them on phone for more inquiry and confirmation.

I will be very grateful if you can help me secure this money and am assuring you that you will never regret helping me because am willing to give you a reasonable portion of the money for your confidentiality, sincerity and kindness.

I urge you to proceed with this as I do not think that we have got enough time as I wait for your instructions.
