"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: IN GOD WE TRUST.

From: Andy White
Abidjan, Cote d’lvoire.

Dear Respectful one,

This is very urgent, my name is Andy White, am 24 years old, the son of late Mr Lawrence White, I wish to inform you that am interested in doing business with you, particularly by venturing into Real Estate business as an investment outlet or any business that is profitable in your country. I pray you do not betray the trust, which am about to repose on you as my business associate if you are willing to assist me in this proposal.

I am in possession of the sum of US$12.5 (Twelve Million Five Hundred Thousand American Dollars) which I wish to invest as a matter of urgency through you in your country. Source of the fund, my late father Mr Lawrence White, was a successful business-man whom before his untimely death in June 2004, was a Cocoa and Diamond Merchant based here in Abidjan, Cote d’lvoire. My father and Mother were poisoned at a party organised by one of his business associates. Before he died, he called me at his sick bedside and secretly informed me that he deposited the sum of US$12.5m in a bank here, that he used my name as next of kin to deposit the fund, since am the only son.

He warned me seriously, to be very careful and make sure I do not lose the fund, that it was because of the fund his business associates planned and poisoned him. Therefore, with tears he advised me to seek for a trust worthy foreign partner from your country to help me invest the fund in any lucrative business, such as estate investment or any business that is profitable in your country. He advised me to take my younger sister Lucy and move out of this country, after the fund has been transferred.

My plan was that we should finish our education here first, before I start to plan how to invest the fund in any business venture. But two men whom claim to be among my late father’s business associates, recently came to our house and demanded for all the documents concerning the fund. I denied that I don’t know anything about the fund or the document. Before they left, they threatened to kill me if I fail to give it to them next time they come. Based on this, I decided to transfer the fund to overseas immediately and relocate to your country. Before contacting you, I have spoken with the bank manager and worked out modalities on how to transfer the fund.

Please, we humbly seek your assistance in the following ways:

To assist us in transferring the fund quietly into your account in your country.
To serve as the guardian of the fund since am still in the university and my younger sister is still in secondary school.
To make proper arrangement for us to come to your country, to further our education and help us secure a residential permit in your country.

With clean mind, I am offering you 15% of the total fund, as compensation for your efforts/input, after the successful transfer of the fund into your nominated account in your country. I believe that this transaction would be concluded within the shortest possible time.
I hope that I shall receive a favourable reply from you urgently and I will give you more detailed information, how this transaction will be carried out.

God bless you.

Yours Sincerely
Andy White and Sister
