"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear VICTIMNAME VICTIMNAME,
Compliments of the season to you.
It is a pity that I have not heard from you since and I have really waited patiently all this while maybe your executive secretary did not deliver my message to you.
I know by now You should have finished your tour and I trust it went on very well.

It is very important to note that HSBC BANK OF LONDON will contact you to confirm on the funds of fourteen million, five hundred thousand pounds sterling which was supposed to have been paid into your account much earlier than now if not for all your delays.
If you comply with the directives, you will confirm the funds  being paid into your account latest by Wednesday next week as soon as you provide a valid bank account details that the funds can be transfered into.

Please note that you will need to get back at me to let me know all correspondences with the bank in London like I earlier stated to you.
You will have to send me your mobile phone numbers so that I can call you right away for more clarifications incase there is hesistation from your side like you sounded in your last mail.
