"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: HOW WAS YOUR WEEKEND? READ!!

Dear Good Friend. Please I decided to write you because I have no other alternative, since after the death of my father in the hands of the rebels. I have been in a very big difficulty on how to safeguard the money that my late father left for me with United Nations storage department New York before his death. This money was packaged as a family artifact. So right I want you to act as the new beneficiary on my behalf and claim consignment on my behalf. I will give you 35% of the total money. My name is James George; from Northern Sudan in East Africa. I and my mother and two little sisters are presently in London England as an asylum seeker under British Government. We fled out of my country after the rebels killed my father. Note I have the entire necessary documents back you up; to enable you claim the consignment. Please if you accept to assist me to claim this consignment out from the United Nations storage department New York, kindly reply me back urgently with your full name and your mailing address also with your company name and phone number for easy communication. Note the United Nations storage department New York does not know that the consignment contains money; therefore do not tell them when you start communicating with them. God will bless you for accepting to help us. Lastly if you claim the consignment and deposit the funds to checking account, we then come over to your country to live for the rest of our life, and most importantly to invest our own share of the money in your country and for my sisters to continue their Education as soon as we conclude the business. I am waiting eagerly to hear from you, God bless you and your family. Sincerely,James George.
