"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Mr Konrad,

Thank you for your understanding throughout this period I was away on a business trip to Egypt, Africa.
I came back yesterday and decided to communicate you as promised before travelling.

There is a new development in respect to our former arrangement, my Client Mrs Susan Shabangu is suggesting that the fund be brought to London through Diplomatic Channel since you did not confirm your willingness to receive the Diplomat and the Consignment in Germany and also your unwillingness to indicate your interest of travelling to Spain where the fund was deposited.

Please if this arrangement is not okay by you and you still want to go to Spain, do not hasitate to indicate this by mailing me back.

Once again, thank you and be rest assured that this transaction will bring a total change in your financial status as my Client has agreed to give you 20% of the total sum while the rest will be invested in any business as you may direct.

Note, that, the telephone number I gave you is lost so I will provide you with a new one as I have informed the Company that provided me with the former number.

Please treat this as important and urgent.

Looking forward to your urgent response.

Regards,
Barrister Chester Mensah
