"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Janwillem Bech

My name is Hon Barrister S.K Williams, a legal practitioner I am the
personal attorney to late Arthur Bech, a national of your country, who
executed a contract with The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation federal
republic of Nigeria , (NNPC).

I m obliged to inform you that the federal government of Nigeria has issued
a notice of payment to Seven Contractors which my late attorney was among
to be paid the sum of US$11.5 Million as his contract sum for the contract
he executed in Nigeria before his death, two are from Asia, three from
Europe and two from America involving total sum of One Hundred and Ninety
Five Million United States Dollars payment file has been screened for
payment by the Telex & Wire Department, Central Bank of Nigeria as approved
by the London and Paris Clubs Creditors, The Presidency, European Union,
European Economic Committee, International Monetary Fund, World Bank
Creditors and all other financial institutions in the country such as the
National Economic Intelligence Committee, Federal Ministry of Finance and
the Central Bank of Nigeria etc.

Over the years, I have made several enquiries to locate any of his extended
relatives, but this has also proved unsuccessful. After these several
unsuccessful attempts, I decided to do some search in the internet, to
locate any member of his family luckily enough, I contact you. The bank has
issued me a notice to provide the next of kin; I have contacted you so as to
present you as the next of kin so that his contract amount of 11.5 million
United States dollars can be transferred to your account by the contract
payment department of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation of
Nigeria. All I require is your honest co-operation to enable us seeing this
deal through. I guarantee that this will be executed under legitimate
arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law.
And also assure me of your trust and remember that the trust in business is
confidential. So let it be only between me and you. if you give me your full
cooperation this transaction is properly executed and the fund will be
transferred into your account.
