"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Upon maturity of the deposit,we have sent a routine notification to his
address, since he died with his family but no response was received. On
further verification from his deposit file, we discovered that he did not
declare any person as his next of kin to inherit his $30M.That is why we
contacted you hence you bear the same last name with him, we want to present
you to the bank as his next of kin so that this money will be paid to you.

His money has been floating in the Bank, while the yearly interest is being
rolled over with the principal sum at the end of each year without any
member of his family or relation coming forward to claim it. This is why we
have decide to look for some one to present as his next of kin who will
co-operate with us to divert the money to any reliable foreign bank for our
sharing possible investment.

When I saw that you have a similar name with Late Mr.Steve Gagnon,we decided
to contact you so that we shall entrust the fund in your care. We will
obtain all the necessary documents in your name to prove that you are
