Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

My Dear,

Compliments of the day.
I got your contact in my search for a honest and trustworthy person who will assist me. My name is Patrick Kalou the only Son of Late General Alenxander Kalou the former Director of military inteligence and special acting General Manager of ther sieria Leone Diamond mining coperation(SLDMC ).

I am contacting you from our refugee base in Abidjan seeking your good assistance to retrive my inheritance money the sum of (US$10.5m) which is presently in a private Security Company in Europe.This money is revenues from solid minerals and
dimonds sale which were under my fathers possession during the civil war .

Following the break out of the war, almost all government offices,coperations and parastatals were attacked and vandalized. The SLDMC was loothed and burnt down to ashes, and diamonds worth millions of dollars was stolen by the rebel military forces who
attacked my fathers office.

Many top government officials and senior army officers were assasinated and my father was a key target because of his very sensitive military possition and appointment in the SLDMC. Regreatably,my father was captured and murdered along with half brother in cool blood during a mid-night rebel
shoot-out when our official residence in freetown was armbushed by the late Corporal fordey Sanko the notorious rebel leader.

My mother sustainded very sever bullet injuries which resulted to her untimely and painful death in a private hospital here in Ivory Coast.Now i am alone in a totally strange country without parents, relatives or any body to care for me at my tender age.Before my mother died, she told me that my
father deposited some money which he made from diamond
sales and contracts in a security company and that he used my name as the next of kin during the time he deposited the consignment.She adviced that i should pray and find a trustworthy foreign business partner who would help me to transfer and invest this money in profitable business venture
overseas. She told me to do this quickly so that i can leave Ivory Coast and then settle down abroad. She gave me the document to prove the deposit and then told me that my father registered it as family valuables for security reasons. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

I have met a lawyer and we have contacted the security company and confirmed the consignment in their custody. If you are willing to assist me, please let me know
immediately so that I will furnish you with the contact of the security company for you to establish communication with them and for you to arrange on when to met them.
Please note that i am offering you 15% of the total money as compensation for your noble assistance in accodiance with my mothers advise. I am interested in any profitable commercial venture which you consider very good in your country and you would also get a school for me so that i can finish
my university education.

Please there is urgent need for response because of the war /political crises going on now in Cote d'Ivoire.
