"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello Beck...Thanks for your help

Dear  K. Beck,

I am happy to inform you about my success in getting my contract payment of $31 Million USD transferred under the assistance and cooperation of a new partner from Australia. Presently I’m in Australia for investment projects with my own share of the money. However, I did not forget your past efforts and attempts to assist me in transferring those funds, and have to show appreciation by keeping for you a payment package of One Hundred Thousand United State Dollars ($100,000.00) in a certified bank draft.

As a matter fact, I have called your phone number to say hello and also inform you of the money but there was no voice tone so I decide to send you an email and hope it gets to you. Your draft is with my secretary – Mr. James Brown and you have to contact him at your earliest convenience and have him send it to you. You can contact him by phone (234-1-899-4037), by fax (234-9-272-8959) or by email (mrbrown@mail2james.com).  I had informed him that the money belongs to you and he should send it once you get across to him. So feel free to contact Mr. Brown and instruct him on where to send your draft. Please let me know as soon as you receive it so I can update my record.

At the moment, I am out of town to Australia for some investment projects with my new partner and won’t be home until May. So you have to contact my secretary for your money. It interests me to appreciate your past efforts in the deal though the transaction was not successful with us then but I am happy it fell through at the end.

Kind regards,

Dr. Alex Gambo.
