"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

ATTN:

Sir,

I am, Lt. Gen. Mensah K. Addo, National Security Adviser to the President of Ghana.
I have received directives from the presidency to apologize on his behalf for the delay in paying your contract sum and also among other things process and deliver your payment through diplomatic channels.
It was due to the petitions written by foreign contractors like your humble self that prompted the presidency in introduce this cash delivery System via Diplomatic Courier Unit in Accra-Ghana.
These Diplomatic deliveries must be delivered to your doorstep and it is very important that you meet the diplomat at the nearest International Airport to accompany him to either your bank to make the deposit or to your house.
Please provide all necessary particulars you have (if any) to enable us cross check and reconfirm with what we have in your file.
As soon as this required information are received, your application will be processed and the Diplomat will embark on procuring the necessary documents concerning the movement of your consignment, this will include among other certificates, Certificate of Entry, Ghana Drug Clearance Certificate and other vital documents.
As soon as these documents are ready, he will fax them to you for your perusal, but please confirm your private telephone numbers immediately.
Lastly, we will require your maximum co-operation for a hitch free delivery of your contract fund in cash to you.
