"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

RE: PAYMENT ON YOUR CONTRACT SUM

I am CHIEF OLUSEGUN OBASANJO, the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I have directed Mr. Donald Kaberuka, The President, African Development Bank whom have been appointed by this office to bring to your immediate notice and urgent attention that this new Government understands your plight, the huge amount of money you have spent and all the disappointment you have suffered in the past to get your contract sum paid to you. Due to what we described as selective payment and incessant demand of excessive fee by some unscrupulous and corrupt erstwhile officials in charge of foreign contract payment in the past.

However, upon assumption of office by this new Democratic Elected Government, series of special meeting were held home and abroad with some leaders of the World Monetary Institution E.G. World Bank Group, International Monetary Fund (IMF) Paris and London Club of Creditors, European Economic Community (E.E.C.) and envoy’s of our Correspondence International Bank of Settlement Worldwide affiliated with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). The purpose of this special meeting was to (i) rebuild Nigeria Economic (ii) pay all foreign debts. In this regards, and due to the good and positive results we receive from this special meeting a total sum of US$2.9 Billion have being approved from the supplementary budget bill which was approved by the Upper House of Assembly recently to pay all foreign contractors whose payment have been hanging since 1999. In order to show the world democratic and transport government by this new Government, and give Foreign Contractors 100% Assurance
that in three (3) working days their contract sum will be effected to their nominated Bank Account. The Government of Nigeria inaugurated the African Development Bank(ADB) under the full guidance of the World Bank Group who is to check the progress of the African Development Bank(ADB) and see to it that every contractor receives his / her money within the next three working days immediately the contractor has contacted the Mr. Donald Kaberuka, The President, African Development Bank and the (IMF) have being empowered with the Foreign Contractors Payment Previously approved by the past Regimes / Administration which their payment were not effected.

I have sent a telex signal to Mr. Donald Kaberuka, The President, African Development Bank to effect the payment of your Contract sum, and two other Contractors within the next two working days. You are however, strongly advised for the interest of your person / Firm to contact Mr. Donald Kaberuka, The President, African Development Bank on his Tel Line:234-1-7936059 Ext 101, Email:africandevelopmentbank@indiatimes.com or Email: adbank@adbbank.net for the immediate payment of your contract fund within the next two working days. The CBN and NNPC or other Financial Institutions does not have the power to effect your payment without the due clearance and institution from the Presidency you are advised to call Mr.Donald Kaberuka (President),Tel: 234-1-7936059 Ext 101, for the immediate payment of your contract sum within the next two working days as they are on standby to effect your payment into your nominated bank account as soon as you get in touch to them
immediately. Please, you are advised to do whatever he ask you to do, to enable him release your contract sum to you at once within the stipulated time frame given remember this is the first quarter payment for this year 2007.

Sir, on behalf of this Democratic Government of Nigeria, I apologize for any delay you might have encountered in receiving your money in the past. However, Congratulations in Advance.
