Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

• This email message is a next of kin scam.
• This email lists free webmail addresses. Use of such addresses is typical for scams. Lotteries, banks and any but the smallest of companies do not normally use such addresses. Criminals use them to anonymously send and receive email at Internet cafes.

My name is Mr. Lateef Dabiri; I work with IBTC Chartered Bank in Nigeria, I am the heads Central Operations Department of the Bank, which consists of international and domestic banking operations and also the personal accounts manager to one Engr. Anderson Barr a National of your country, who used to work with shell development company here in Nigeria.

My client, his wife, and their three children were involved in the ill-fated Kenya Airways crash in the coasts of Abidjan in January 2002 on a holiday trip in which all passengers on board died.
