"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Sir,

We have received your quick response letter dated 08-02-07 to our notice and we are certifying with your answer, which has made our investigation open and truthful. The two gentle men have being arrested and they are in the police net on till your funds are delivered then you will help us to persecute them.
We are already working on the issue of getting your payment delivered to you through a diplomatic delivery through an approved / appointed diplomatic security company where these funds are deposited for immediate approval and instruction to the security company for shipment to your door step for collection.
Furthermore, you required to forward without any delays your complete delivery name, address and functional telephone number to enable us complete the necessary shipment document and issue a deposit certificate in your favour as the qualified and legal beneficiary to the funds and original copy send to you before the shipment of the consignment and the airway bill copy send to you as well.
It is very important you comply with simple directive to forward the required right information to avoid any further delays in the issuance of instruction from the Federal Ministry of Finance (FMF) to the security company.
Please desist from any further communication with any body and offices concerning this issue until you receive your cash payment in your doorstep as it affects diplomatic shipment of consignment.
