"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Attn; 2nd Category Prize Winner,

I am in receipt of your email regarding your Lotto Prize winning payment, and I can confirm to you that a Check of $715,810.00 United States dollars only, has been signed and drafted for payment to you. After you emerged as one of the winners, several attempts was made by our Lotto claim Agency to contact you for the immediate payment of your prize but all messages sent to you by mail was not responded to and that was the reason your winning prize money was returned to our department.I tried to call your telephone but it was not reachable.

Due to our security measures to avoid double claiming or unwarranted taking advantage of the situation by other unlucky participants or impersonators, you are advised to keep your winning details of this award personal and very confidential against any third party till your claims have been processed and your funds remitted or paid to you. Any discrepancies resulting from a breach of this confidentiality on the part of the winners will be covered solely by such winner as our staffs are bound by the oath of secrecy taken on employment.

Your prize money is with our department here and you are hereby invited to our address at; Juan Hurtado De Mendoza 6D 28044, Cotonou Republic du Benin for collection of the Check.
But if you are unable to report to the above office then you should include your details as follows:

And I will make arrangement for the delivery of your check through Courier to you for pick up and payment.
You should choose the most convenient way to receive your payment immediately and notify me immediately because after the 31st of March. 2007 any unclaimed prize will have to be forfeited by the Organisers.
