"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: FROM DAVID & SISTER

FROM DAVID & SISTER
My Dear

I am David Moses, from Democratic Republic of Congo. I lost my Dad a couple of months ago. My Father was a serving director of the Copper and Diamonds exporting board until his death .He was assassinated along side with my mother by the rebels following the political uprising in our country. Before his death he deposited the sum of US$15.5 Fifteen Million Five hundred Thousand United States dollars here in a Private Security Company here in Cote D'Ivoire which was for the importation of hydroelectric and petroleum processing machine for the establishment of his own company.

Note, according to my late father, the money is in a box and he did not disclose to the Security Company the real content of the box, he did it for the safety of the money according to him, he decleard to the Security Company that the box contains family valuables.

I want you to do us a favour, to help us claim this box containing the money from the security company as the beneficiary and move it to your country for investment as I do not have any knowledge of investment, that will be after we retreive it from the Security Company. This is my reason for writing to you. Our father had informed the security company that the box belonged to his oversea associate but did not mention any name to them. Please if you are willing to assist me and my sister, indicate your interest in replying back. We are ready to give you a substantial amount, like 18% of the total money as your commission for the assistance.

Thanks and best regards .

David Moses And Sister
