"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

I came across your contact email address on the course of my personal search for a reliable and trust worthy person to asssist me carry out this project in my department. I decided to seek your permission to go ahead, for you will agree with me that this is the easiest way to communicate with you for i don't have your contacts. I am Mr Sonni Griffit, Chief Operating Officer of Natwest Bank Plc and a personal Treasurer to Late Mr Robert Chapman the African Area Director of SIL International from Hamilton, Ontario Canada that died in the crash if Kenya Airways Flight 431 in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, January 30, 2000. Before his death, he made a fixed deposit of the sum of £50.5Million GBPS with my Bank. Upon maturity, it was discovered that he died without notifying anyone about the deposit he made in my bank. With the sum still sitting
in my bank, the interest is being rolled over with the principal sum at the end of each year since no-one has ever come for claims. Since his death (Mr Robert Chapman), all effort made to locate his surviving family and relations has proved abortive. The board directors of my bank issued a notice that after 2months from now and no Next of Kin shows up for claims, the funds will be confisticated and declared dormant. As a staff of the bank I cannot acquire the fund in my name and according to the British Law governing the Banking System in London constitution which states that at the expiration of 6years, such funds will revert to the ownership of the Government for financing military operations on defence affairs such as purchasing Arms and Ammunitions for the military against the recent treats of terrorist attempts in the UK. This is by virtue of its nature as being utterly Confidential and Top Secret. You shall be Compensated with 45% of the total sum for your partnership
while 50% for me the initiator and then 5% used in settling any expenses that arises in the course of this transaction. It is from the 50% that i wish to commence a joint and profitable business investment with you there in your country. YOUR ROLE: All I need from you is to stand as the beneficiary to the Above quoted Sum and I will re-profile the funds with your name as the Next of Kin to the deceased (Mr Robert Chapman) fund. I solicit your strict confidence in this transaction and your consent to present you as a foreigner to be the Next of Kin to inherit the fund in any of your nominated bank account in your country. Please note that the transfer has to be completed latest Fourteen (14) Banking days from the date of the receipt.
