"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: FOREIGN ENGINEERS URGENTLY NEEDED IN SOUTH AFRICA

The Director,

RE: FOREIGN CIVIL ENGINEERS/CONTRACTORS URGENTLY NEEDED IN SOUTH AFRICA. PLEASE APPLY!!

The Government of the Republic of South Africa and the Local Organizing Committee of the 2010 Soccer World Cup have unanimously agreed upon the urgent need to bring in Foreign Contractors/Civil Engineers to handle all the construction work ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

The Estimated time of Completion of the various construction projects is very limited, that is why a total of 1,500 well recognized and accredited Engineers from around the world are urgently needed.

As a member of the Contract Award Department of the FIFA 2010 Local Organizing Committee, I have read through your company profile and I’m quite convinced that you should be able to handle one of the various Engineering projects which include:

The construction of stadiums
Roads
Metro Rail
Hospitality avenues
and other aspects of Telecommunications.

This entire project is worth 10 Billion US Dollars (70 Billion South African Rand). Foreign Engineers will be awarded contracts worth USD 500,000,000 (Five Hundred Million United States Dollars); 10% of which will be paid upfront to the contractor to enable them move to South Africa and commence the project as soon as possible.

Please do contact us as soon as possible: Direct Line: +27 724 398 972 and speak to George Zwane or email mrgeorgezwane@yahoo.com . We shall provide you with all necessary documentation including all the permits and letters of accreditation. And you will need to travel to South Africa and sign for the USD 50,000,000 (Fifty Million US Dollars) which is the 10% upfront deposit paid to all Expatriate Engineers once they have signed the contract.

We shall be sending you the Expatriate Contractor’s Permit which you will use to travel to South Africa.

Some urgency on your part will be highly appreciated.

Sincerely,

George Zwane

Co-ordinator
