"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Dearest One in Mind,

Dearest One in Mind,

I am so much delighted to write to you because I believe you are God-Sent, my name is Miss Rose Kolo (19). First, I am sorry if this mail will come to you as an embarrassment or a surprise I just felt like emptying myself to you, I decided to confide in you, as I am faced with total frustration and hardship. My Ernest prayer is that you find this mail in good health and blessings and I also pray to Almighty God that you assist me with my request afterwards. I am presently residing in Abidjan , Cote d'Ivoire . I left my country with my father after the death of my mother during the war in our country. We came down here mostly because my father business interests. He operates a cocoa business in the northern part of this country.

During the ongoing political crisis here which has turn out into a civil war since 2003, my father was attacked and killed at the hit of the crisis as the rebels were killing prominent foreigners with the reason that they were financially supporting the government against them (rebels).
Presently, I am staying in a REFUGEE camp in the capital city Abidjan were the civil war has not reached. I stay here because during the war in the northern part of the country, part of our house was set ablaze by the rebel forces. When security was partially restored to our area, I was unable to meet my basic needs that is pay my bills and accommodation so the only option for me was to move into a REFUGEE camp were I could at least feed twice a day and sleep as I do not know anyone here. I God that we  have internet access in REFUGEE camp to enable me send email to you.

My late father concealed some amount of money in a trunk box and deposited it in a safe keeping house here in Abidjan . The total sum is $27million dollars which I will want you to help me move out of this country because of the uncertainty’s here. But the safe keeping house does not know the true content of the trunk to be cash as my father declared upon deposit as containing art craft for export. My father confided so much in me after the death of my mother. We were so close that he never did anything without my knowledge and opinion. All that I want is your sincere and genuine help in helping me safe guide this trunk which means that you will have to come here so that we can meet face to face first before proceeding with this claim. I am the Named Next of kin to the deposit so there won’t be any problem in the claiming. Armed with the deposit documents which I have in my procession, both of us will proceed to the company were the money is concealed, sign it out first and then move the money out of the country.
Since I am the named next of kin to this deposit, I cannot allow the money to remain here while I leave because my life and future depends solely on this fund. .If you have heard from the news for the past few months now there has been intense fighting and bombing in those regions were the rebels are fighting with the government so I will like to live here as soon as we have this money moved out of this country.

Upon your arrival here, I will like you to open an account in any of the international banks of your choice here where this money will be lodged into for transfer to your country, I know that this is our first mail, but I have decided to confide in you .I want you to know that for years now, I have lived in absolute frustration ,agony and pains without any person around me, no parents ,uncles or friends ,but God had kept me until now, which I believe that I will smile once again.

Also I will like you to help me move over to your country of stay so that I can complete my Education once the money has been moved out. I am totally frustrated to the extent that my whole mind for now lies on my survival which is securing this money. Please I am confiding completely in you and I really need your assistance at this point of my life as you alone know of this venture.

Yours Sincerely Sister
Miss Rose Kolo
