"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: WE NEED YOU AS A SUB-CONSULTANT MANGOLD

Dear Mangold,

First my sincere apologies for infringing on you like this. It shows though
how much we are in need of corporate assistants like you.

My name is Alfred Sullivan, head of the Modeling team of E-Consults and I am
heavily understaffed for our most current Model contract.

I would want to know if you can work for our firm in the capacity of a
Sub-consultant. We really are in desperate need of a sub-consultant for our
models in the African regions like Ghana, Nigeria and Cameroun coming down
for an Expo in the UK. As you might know, these African countries have very
slow funds transfer processes and we might lose them if we send them their
BTA funds directly. We would have handled it ourselves but we might run out
of time since we have so much on our hands right now handling Models in the
USA and UK. It will really be tedious for my permanent staff force of just
23 people to handle close to 43 models from various parts of the world in
this short period of time and thats why any extra hand will be welcome.

So the deal is that you correspond with our paying clients, receive the
Models' BTA funds and dispatch to these Models in these countries I
mentioned, through Western Union or Moneygram transfer. We have about 9 of
them in these countries that are awaiting payments for their flights and
Hotel reservation from us. Now you will for any check you clear from these
paying clients receive 10% of total amount on check as your service fees.
Thats at per with what is obtainable in the market for a Sales
Representative.

I will be expecting your prompt reply. Have a wonderful day.

Regards,
ALFRED SULLIVAN
