"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Attention: Honourable Contractor

Sir,

RE: OVERDUE PAYMENT

Following series of complaints and petitions from foreign
Contractors/Beneficiaries over the continous delay in paying of their
contract payment for the contracts executed on behalf of Federal Republic of
Nigeria in the past years, the Presidency in conjunction with the National
Assembly has decided to set up the above commission to look into all cases
of delayed, withheld or suspended payments and make necessary
recommendations to the Government for immediate release of such payment to
the beneficiary from the Federal Government special account.

In this regard, having found your name gazetted in the Government payment
record made available to this Commission as one of the Foreign Contractors
who executed contract with the Ferderal Republic of Nigeria under Category
''A'', we write to inform you that your payment file is among those
currently undergoing verification by this commission.

Consequently, you are hereby advised to contact the above Commission for
your immediate payment as we have been given an order of mandamus to offset
all over due payments to the Contractors/Beneficiaries. This Commission is
abiding by international law and order to treat all matters with ease and
adequate co-operations.

We anticipate your urgent response.

Thanks.

Yours faithfully,

Mr. Abubakar Usman
