"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: From Mr Jason Fat

A family member of yours (perhaps) in Singapore died nine months ago leaving behind an estate/capital(US$15.7M with interest) in my bank here where I work DBS capital investment LTD. His personal Attorney/lawyer notified our department of his sudden death and has also requested that we run a check to find any surviving relatives since his girlfriend who was indicated in his WILL as next of kin happen to die in the same car crash that took the life of the investor.During this check exercise for any surviving relative your name and email contact was among the findings that matches the same surname as the decease (name WITHELD for security reason). To maintain the level of security required I have intentionally left out the final details. I urge you to come forward since I can provide you with the details needed for you to claim the estate/capital so that I can be part of this claim. To affirm your willingness and cooperation please do so by replying me at my private email (jsn_fatt@yahoo.com) stating your FULL NAME, DATE OF BIRTH, TELEPHONE NUMBER, FAX NUMBER, PRIVATE EMAIL ADDRESS AND POSTAL ADDRESS. I do expect your prompt response. Yours truly,Mr. Jason Fat.
