"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Thank you so much for your very great reply. Just recently I for some weird reason started to have more visions when I am asleep about cash money and expensive gems falling into my hands. And then I by pure chance managed to win a pleasant scooter in a local prize draw. And then I got your letter. Is it not a little weird? I hope that I have not mentioned to you about this before and am not too boring to you again but I just found it so unusual. In any case, I would like to be direct. I have spent many long hours perusing your mail and I am still hesitant that I understand everything thoroughly. Sometime ago I had paid some payments to a person who wrote something almost the same as yours. He has still not answered back my last 14 emails and this makes me nervous about you. I hope it is ok for asking but are you unequivocal what you are proposing is not illegal? Your reply would be much considerate. Kind wishes, Ms Bieberer
