"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear: Altmann Klien,

I received your mail with thanks. As I stated in my previous mail that I
want you to stand in as the beneficiary of the consignment of which I
received your order to do so. I whish to thank you for your
understanding/co-operation.

This consignment will be sold and the profit transferred to your nominated
bank account in your country for investment.

I made a contact with a bank manager who promise to assist us transfer the
fund to any overseas account without any problem.

According to the bank manager, he will get the consignment deposited in the
bank's suspence account and from this account he will raise a bank draft in
your name and a copy of the draft will be send to you for your confirmation.

You will thereafter be required to open a non-resident bank account in your
name with his bank where this draft will be deposited to clear before onward
transfer of the fund to your designated bank account in your country through
telegraphic bank transfer.

I urge you to follow my instructions for a successfull transaction as we
look forward to a better investment in your country.

Due to my position in my company I will like to step aside as you deal with
the bank manager who I will introduce to you later.

As long as you give me your full support/co-operation I will leave no stone
unturned in making sure that the fund get to your account as soon as
possible. As soon as the fund is right in your overseas bank account I will
immediately vacate my position to meet with you over there for investment of
which you will be my eye opner.

I hereby furnish you once again with my telephone number, it is very
important you call me as soon as you receive this mail for oral
communication/more details. +27-73-5824574. Furnish me with the below
details to enable do the change of beneficairy.

1. Your full names

3. Your position in the company

5. A copy of your international passport or identity document
