"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

ATTN:Brune Herrler, We write to inform you that we are still waiting for your response in respect to your Lottery Winning Fund as we have informed you of the necessary requirements to enable us meet with your request and have your lottery fund processed and transfered into your nominated bank account. You have not been responding positively as management is getting discourage in assisting with your processing of claim. Kindly keep in touch as soon as possible if you are still interested to lay claim to your lottery winning prize as we just received a notification letter from the International Award Department this morning requesting us to send the claim report of all lucky winners to them, That the closing date for filling claim is on the 5th of July 2007 as they expect we must have been rounding up by now. We thus send you this notification as We have not concluded with your processing of claim and do not also understand your position and intention as regards your request
to this office. If you have finally chosen to decline the promotion, Kindly keep in touch as it will be indicated in your claim file and sent to the appropriate authority. You can at any point in time chose to decline the award but it also have to be done officially so we will stop further correspondance with you and be rest assured we meet with your request to this office till you chose not to complete your claim process.We await your urgent compliance to enable management expedite action and meet your request to this office.
