Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

  • "stamp duty" (this will cost you money - be careful with upfront payments to anyone you only know through email, especially if they promise you a lot of money. )
  • "the consignment " (they want you to be blinded by the prospect of quick money, but the only money that ever changes hands in 419 scams is from you to the criminals)
• This email message is a fake lottery scam. Consider the following facts about real lotteries:
  
  1. They don't notify winners by email.
  2. You can't win without first buying a lottery ticket.
  3. They don't randomly select email addresses to award prizes to.
  4. They don't use free email accounts (Yahoo, Hotmail, etc) to communicate with you.
  5. They don't tell you to call a mobile phone number.
  6. They don't tell you to keep your winnings secret.
  7. They will never ask a winner to pay any fees to receive a prize!
• This email lists mobile phone numbers. Use of such numbers is typical for scams because they allow criminals to conceal their true location. They can receive calls in an Internet cafe from where they send you emails, while pretending to be in some office.

Dear Client,

We happily announce to you that we have confirmed your winning award at the Lottery office. The specified batch numbers, ticket number and serial number, including all the relevant documents that were sent to this office has been vetted satisfactory. You will be required to fill the information required on the processing form. All informations has been received and verified. Also, the amount that will be delivered to you after you employ our services, is £300,000{Three Hundred Thousand Pounds}.This amount would be delivered to you in installments of 10{ten} payments of £30,000 each, for the next ten months(one for each month). Our billing quote that will be given to you would be based on this number of deliveries.


After due verification of your winning notification and documentation sent by the lottery company to this office, we are required by law to get Notarization and Stamp duty on your winnings endorsed in the United Kingdom Tax Revenue Office, to be able to carry out the transfer of your winnings as the true beneficiary of the won award under the Lottery Promotions, Zoned under United Kingdom. This is mandatory due to the stipulated guidelines given by the UK Government .Your certificate of award and other necessary documents will be sent to you via our courier express mail service to your given address upon your provision of the requested info. You are to please confirm the following information so that we can input it into our computer tracking system, this way you would be able to track the position of your consignment online;
