"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Thank you for been a true friend

My Good Friend, How are you today, hope you are sharing in the goodness of God. Sorry I lost your number. I saw your sister last month, happy she married Paul at last though I still wonder why you refused to attend your own sister's wedding, she gave me your email address.Till date Mark has not giving me those boosters you paid for. That's to tell you the kind of person he is. I hope you won't let him get away with it. I am happy to inform you that the good Lord has been good to me. I have succeeded in establishing a flourishing business through your help, though you understandably wasn't able to procure the balling machine you promised, but I was able to work with Frank with same idea you gave me. I am most grateful for your humble effort to assist me then.As it stands now, I have been able to established up to four balling factories here in Cotonou, with bulk supplies of used clothing's, household and shoes from firms in Australia, UK, US and Germany. As advised by my father in the Lord, Evangelist Lucky Okon.I will never forget your humble effort to assist me then, though it didn't work out due to circumstances best known to you, however I want to make sure you partake in my success for your efforts and advise. I have instructed my secretary to transfer the sum of Three Hundred and Fifty Seven Thousand United States dollars. ( USD357,000 ) to you. One good turn deserves another, you have been a true friend.... a friend in times of need, I can not quantify your efforts financially, please accept this humble offer from me as a token from my heart. Contact my secretary Mike Dogo world_clothing_corp@myway.com for the money. I am now in an Australian university for my Phd in business administration and international law. I really need this qualification. Please never hesitate to let me know if there is any business you will like to do with me in the future, better still if you can be able to source used clothing's from NGOs or Charity homes I will be willing to do business with you. Best of lucks. Jack Straw
