"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Hello...

Dear Friend,I write to solicit your assistance in the execution of a transaction of mutual benefit.I work for a prime bank in London UK as an independent auditor, during my last audit, I realized an unclaimed Bank Draft of 8,528,000GBP (Eight Million Five Hundred and Twenty Eight Thousand GBP).Further investigation on my part led to the fact that these funds actually belongs to nobody as it was originally prepared in error as an over draft payment for a contract executed since 1990, since that time these funds has been unclaimed. With my influence I am very confident that I can present you as the supposed beneficiary to these funds, which would be transferred to you for the benefit of the two of us.Should you be willing to assist me in this transaction, the funds shall be shared 60/40 between the two of us at the completion of this transaction. Feel free to reply me through, rich_wrightmail@yahoo.co.uk.I await your urgent response,Regards,Mr. Richard Wright.
