"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear Respectable One,
 
My name is Dr.Albert David. I work with the Citizens Bank (Nig) Plc.
bill and exchange of the foreign remittance department. I am the
personal Accountant to late Engr.(Newton) a National of your country,
who was a contractor with the DEPARTMENT OF PETROLEUM RESOURCES
VICTORIA ISLAND,LAGOS.
 
Here in after shall be referred to as my client On 26th December
2003,my client, his wife, and their three children were involved in
the Benin plane crash, and the whole family died in this fatal air
crash on 26th December 2003 Since then I have made several inquiries

particularly the CITIZENS BANK (NIG.) PLC. Where the deceased had an
account Valued at ($32 million u s dollars) has issued me a notice to
provide the next of kin. Or have the account confiscated within the
next ten official working days.

(B) He had died intestate (without making a will)

valued at ($32 million US Dollars) can be paid to you and then you and

charity organization in your country. While 10% for unforeseen
bottlenecks we might incur in this transaction and this will be after
tax is deductted by the (IRS) in your country. An attorney will be
contracted to help us revalidate and notarize all the necessary legal
documents that can be used to back up any claim we may make.
