"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: URGENT.. (A MATTER OF TRUST)!!(From Ifeoma Kalu)

Dear Mr Loring Ehrlichstein
I should be terribly ashamed of myself if my sole reason of doing this is to request money from you.

I also understand your fealing because of the horrible letters flying arround the internet.

Honestly I never anticipated that one day I would be seeking help the way I am now, but that is life, you never know what hand it may deal to you.

I do not know what you exactly mean by my mandate for this: but do know that I am under very tight suveilance and most of our personal effects, documents and travel papers have all been confiscated by security operatives

Be assured however of the existence of this funds, as I personally deposited it.I may not know much of banking procedures or what the transfer of this funds may require but I can strongly assure you that that what ever help you give to this family in this trying times would not be in vain.

My aim is not to convince you as I may never be able to do this effectively, but I do wish to lay down the truth before you and hope that you show me understanding.

I hope to hear from you soon and also get the requsted details in your next mail, so that we can proceed.

In confidence

Sincerely.

Ifeoma Kalu.
