"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: MR. NICHOLAS DIXON

Dear Sir/Madam,Please forgive my intruding into your privacy through this email contact. It came about as a result of one of the worst man inhumanity to man. Sponsored by Ex-Liberian President, Charles Taylor who is presently in detention in The Hague, HOLAND over war crime charges in connection with his rule in the Ivory Coast’s BLOOD DIAMOND GENOCIDE. Considering the nature of charges against him, he may face a life sentence, or worst still be condemned to death.Reference:http://news.independent.co.uk/world/africa/article2611756.eceWhile he was in asylum before being handed over to the War Crimes Tribunal to face trials over his rule in the Ivory Coast civil war. I secretly helped him in providing custody to about US$3,700,000.00 (Three Million, Seven Hundred Thousand United States Dollars). As a protocol officer assigned to him, I used my contacts to lodge the money in an account, with the co-operation of an American businessman, MR. NICHOLAS DIXON who recently died of a heart related ailment.Since you are a foreigner like the late businessman, I have contacted you to assist in claiming this fund from the bank where it is lodged, before the origin of the money is discovered and gets confiscated by the bank. So you and I can use this money to assist those victims. As a civil servant, I am not permitted by law to own or operate an account with the value of the above-mentioned amount and for this reason; I cannot directly lay claims to the funds. You and I can be of good help to those people who were maimed for life during the civil war in Ivory Coast with this money. 30% will be donated to Charity groups, in the Ivory Coast where a lot of people were rendered useless by the rebels who amputated arms and legs of men, children and raped women.

I am concerned about these people, the government has neglected them. And, for our efforts, we can share the balance, 40% to me and 30% to you.I have concluded every arrangement to present you as a next-signatory to the account and I will obtain from the relevant authority, necessary legal paperwork and documents that will be used to substantiate and legalize our claim to the fund. All I require is your consent; honest co-operation and assistance to enable us see the deal through. Finally, I guarantee that the transaction will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law. Please contact me via email: abrahamolla22@yahoo.com, to enable us discuss further. Thank you,Mr. Abraham Olla.
