"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: Contract Payment Notification

From: Mr. Sidney Sendy Ukah.Deputy NNPC Spokesman. Sir,RE: Contract Payment NotificationYou might be surprise receiving this message, but going through it carefully, you will realize that it is for yours and my mutual benefits. Due to the embezzlements of over US$4.8 billion the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) mapped out for the settlement of their unpaid foreign contractors by the former Group Managing Director, Engr. Funshho Kupolokun and his arbitrary declaration of the lost of about 600 foreign contractors data list, including over 1,865 local/indigenous contractors list, the new government of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua deliberately sacked Engr. Funshho Kokpoluku, who is now facing trials of 102 count charges now at the Federal High Court in Lagos. However, the new NNPC Group Managing Director, Alhaji Abubakar Lawal Yar’Adua has mandated the NNPC Spokesman’s Office to alert the public (indigenous and foreign contractors) about the ugly incidences that led to their unpaid contract values many years ago, and you are meant to produce your contract details for immediate payment through the NNPC Paymaster-General, Dr. Smith Kofi via Deutche Bank, Frankfurt/Main, in Germany without further delays. Meanwhile, based on the delay of contractors contract fund payments, President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua approved a US$3.5 million as compensation payable first before Dr. Smith Kofi carry’s on with the principal contract value payments. Contact me privately on email (spokesmanofficennpc@yahoo.com)I expect hearing from you as soon as possible.Yours faithfully,Mr. Sidney Sendy UkahDeputy NNPC Spokesman.
