"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Republic Du Benin Regular Email:dr_georgeziegan@yahoo.fr Dear Friand , Is my Pleasure writing to you at this moment of the day, I am Dr.georgeziegan the Director in charge of Auditing and Accounting Unit of Continental Bank in Cotonou-Benin Republic.I got your contact in my search for a reputable and reliable person to do business with,I have urgent and very confidential business proposition for you, On June 6 2003 a major contractor with ECONOMIC COMMUNITY OF WEST AFRICAN STATES (ECOWAS)made a numbered time(Fixed) Deposit for twelve calendar months. This sum of USD$17.5m dollar (Seventeen Million Five Hundred thousand US Dollars) is still lying in my Bank and the interest is being rolled over with the principal sum at the end of each year. No one will ever come forward to claim it. According to Benin banking Law, in line with the Federal Edict Act of 1979 at the expiration of 4(Four)years, the money will revert to the ownership of the Benin Government if nobody applies to claim the fund. Consequently, my proposal is that I will like you to act as next of kin to the deceased customer, so that the fruits of this old man labour will not get into the hands of some corrupt government officials here in Benin,If you accept to carry out this project with me, We will share the money in the ratio of 70% for me and 30% for you.Upon your acceptance to do this deal with me, we will jointly effect the transfer within seven working days be rest assured that this transaction carries no risk and no extra responsibilities on your part, except the above mentioned roles and normally you will be required to maintain absolute secrecy throughout the duration of this transaction, because discussing it with a third party might jeopardise the entire transaction.
