"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

My father was a very wealthy Gold/Diamond dealer in Freetown, the economic capital of Sierra Leone. My father was poisoned to death by his close business associates on one of their business trips. My mother died when I was 15 years old and since then my father took me so special. Before the death of my father last Three years on Dec 29th 2003, in a private hospital in Freetown, he secretly called me by his bed side and told me that he has the sum of Nine million five hundred thousand dollars (USD 9.500.000) Deposited in a Bank here in Cote D'Ivoire. He also advised me to seek for a honest foreigner in a country of my choice to assist me invest the money properly, where those associates of his will not hurt me as they have succeeded in poisoning him.
