"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: RE: YOUR UNCLAIMED INHERITANCE/ CONTRACT PAYMENT

FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA
Office of the secretary of the Government.
Aso Rock Villa
Abuja Nigeria.
Telefax: 234-1-760-5995 Date: 04-10-2007

Attention:

Sir,

RE: YOUR UNCLAIMED INHERITANCE/ CONTRACT PAYMENT

Be inform that the Fedral government of Nigeria has resolved to make sure that all foreign contract/ inheritance beneficiaries receive their payment in the last quarter of this fiscal year.

we are aware of the different fees you have been asked to pay to facilitate the release of your payment. However, all those payments you made did not go to the appropriate quarters and that is why your fund is still on hold. All such payment must be made to the appropriate quarters before your fund would be released to you. It is understood that a lot of beneficiaries of contract payments/inheritance claims are already bankrupt and would not be able come up with these fees at this time. Therefore, the Federal Government of Nigeria has come up with an interest free loan programe to enable beneficiaries like you meet payment of these fees. In this bid, we shall link you to our fiduciary agent either in the US or Canada who is to loan you the amount you require to pay these fees. There is no need for you to present any collateral as the Government here is your guaranttee for the loan.

please also note that the funds that are being facilitated by the investors to offset the said charges have a zero liability and the Government did not provide any collateral to secure the funds except the guarantee, the investors have insisted that the funds will only be paid into any line of credit account and that they will not pay the money into a regular chequeing account and this is due to their insurance policy put in place to guide against lost of their funds. If you are prepared to take the loan and pay back when you receive your fund, do get back to me. Please note that your payment would strictly be under my supervision and I will make sure your fund is released to you once you take the loan and pay the said fees. I await your response on this issue.
