"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

NIGERIATINUBU SQUARE LAGOS
NIGERIA.TEL:234-8028782327FAX:234-1-5559346 Attn: Sir,

Following the return of Draft valued $5.2 million in your favour from your
(being part payment of your long over due contract fund ) country this
morning by a Courier Company, we write to enquire why the Draft was
returned. Please, your confirmation of the reason why the Draft was
rejected will in no small way enable us know how to ractify any problem
associated with the Draft. It is very surprising that such a Certified and
well funded Bank Draft can be rejected without any written instrcution of the
problem it has. However, we are not very sure of your receiving address.
The problem could be from your address hence we advise you confirm its
authenticity. Meanwhile, on your instrcution, the Draft will be sent back to
you through our National Courier Company with strict instruction to call you
on your mobile/telephone number once the Draft arrives your country. We shall
upon despatch forward copy of the Airway Bill receipt to you via your Fax
number to enable you monitor the movement of the Draft. Therefore,
reconfirm without delay your authentic receiving address including mobile and
other telephone numbers for easy reach. We expect you will attend to this
matter promptly. Yours Faithfully, Mr Pat Uka(Foreign Payment
Depertment CBN)
