"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: PLEASE TREAT AS URGENT

FROM: Sgt. Bob Moses
Third Infantry Division
US Army, Baghdad , Iraq.

Dear Friend,

PLEASE TREAT AS URGENT

I apologize for any inconvenience this mail might cause you considering the fact that you do not know me in person. I am Bob Moses, an American soldier, currently serving in the third infantry division of the US army in Iraq .

Some time ago, I and my colleagues stumbled in a room loaded with boxes containing money in one of the mansions of the former Iraq president. We were able to move out 2 boxes of $10M each into a save place to ease suspicion and attention. But because we are due for redeployment/recall this December, we are seeking a trusted partner to receive this money on our behalf.

The BBC web news below will make you understand the story very well
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/2988455.stm

Kindly forward your contact detail, full name, address, telephone and fax numbers to my private email:(bobmoses@go2.pl)) so that you can be furnished with the modus operandi and the details of where the boxes are located and how they can be moved to you. Please do not expose us for security reasons.

Regards,
Bob Moses
