"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Dear: Sir,
I am John O. Aboh Director of allocation foreign operation department with the First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Lagos branch. My office monitors and controls approval of contracts payment and claims. I have before me list of funds, which could not be transferred to some foreign accounts as these accounts have been identified either as ghost accounts, unclaimed deposits or over-invoiced sum etc. 0n this notes, I wish to have a deal with you as regards to this unpaid fund and have it transfer to your account as the beneficiary of this payment claim and with all relevant documentation on your name in accordance with our payment transfer procedures.
As it is my duty to redirect unclaimed and surplus funds to Treasury and Reserve Accounts as unclaimed deposits,
I have this privilege to write you based on the instructions from Foreign Debts Reconciliation Department of Presidency, to submit the lists of payment/expenditures and audited reports of revenues. Among several others, I have decided to remit this claim sum following my idea that we can have a deal/agreement and I am going to do this legally.

Meanwhile, upon your acceptance to successfully conclude this transaction I will look for a way and sneak out of Nigeria including my family and travel down to meet you, so we can go into a lifetime partnership together, in investing this money in your country or anywhere else you prefer. For assisting in the claims, you will be entitled to 35% while myself will be entitled to 60%, while the 5% will be mapped out for any expenses you might incurs during the course of prosecuting this project. I need not to remind you of the confidentiality which this transaction demands. Keep this proposal secret, even if you don’t want to assist me.

My conditions: 1. The sum of USD$9.7M only will be transfer into your account after the processing of all relevant legal documents with your name as the bona-fide beneficiary, the transfer will be made by Draft or telegraphic Transfer (T/T), confirmable in 3 working days. 2. This deal must be kept secret forever and all correspondence will be strictly by email / telephone, for security purposes. 3. There should be no third parties as linkages of such confidential deal are mostly associated with third party, agents or representative. If you agree with my above conditions, l will advise you on what to do immediately and the transfer will commence without delay as I will proceed to fix your name on the on our payment schedule instantly in readiness for transfer.
