"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

From: Engr. Jackson Ubaeke.Chief Accountant OfficerNigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)105, Adolph Crescent, Victoria Island.Lagos Nigeria.

Attn:
I am Engr. Jackson Ubaeke, the chief Accountant of The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and I head a five man tender board in charge of contract award and payment approvals. I came to know of you in my search for a reliable person to handle a very confidential transaction, which involves the transfer of a huge sum of money to a foreign account.

There were series of contracts executed by a consorting of multinationals in the oil industry in favor of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Late Mr. Morris Thompson, who unfortunately lost his life in the plane crash of Alaska Airlines Flight 261 which crashed on January, 31, 2000, including his wife and only daughter leaving nobody to claim the money.

You shall read more news about the crash on visiting this site:(http://www.cnn.com/2000/US/02/01/alaska.airlines.list/)

The owner of this contract Mr. Morris Thompson an American and great industrialist and a resident of Alaska. among which were for the following:

1. The expansion of the pipelines network within for a crude down stream products distribution and subsequent evacuation, which cost $8bUSD(8 Billion United States Dollars).
2. Contract for the turn around maintenance (TAM) of the various Refineries in the country $115 million United States Dollars.
3. The construction of storage tanks for petroleum products (depots) $190 Million United States Dollars.

Meanwhile, the balance of $30.5m USD (Thirty Million Five Hundred United States Dollars Only) which has now been approved and is now ready to be transferred, being that the companies {Thompson Morris}that actually executed these Contracts had been paid part payment when the projects were officially commissioned and there is no one to claim these balance.

It does not matter whether your company did the contract or not, the assumption is that your company won the major contract with Late Thompson Moriss and sub-contracted it out to other companies and you are still waiting for the balance of US$30.5M, consequently, I am willing to transfer the total amount to your account for subsequent disbursement, since we as civil servants are prohibited by the code of conduct bureau (civil service laws) from opening and or operating foreign accounts in our names. Needless to say, the trust I imposed on you at this junction is enormous.

In return,I made up my mind to offer you 20% of the transferred sum, the remaining 80% is for me, Is the percentages ok by you? Note that all modalities have been worked out at the highest level of the ministry of finance and the central bank of Nigeria for the immediate transfer of the fund within 21 working days subject to your satisfaction of the above stated terms.

My assurance is that your role is risk free, I accord this transaction the legality it deserves and for mutual security of the fund, the whole approval procedures will be officially and legally processed with the name of any company you may nominate as the bonafide beneficiary of the above mentioned amount.

Therefore, when the business is successfully concluded I will go through the same connections to withdraw all documents used from all the concerned government ministries for 100% security risk free. Once more, I want you to understand that having put in over 21 years in the civil service of my country, I am very careful to have my image and career deemed.

One blank letterhead, one invoice sheet, your full bank particulars, your full name and direct telephone and fax number through my above and below address, as time is not on our side in the business.

Thanks as I wait in anticipation for your fullest co-operation. Very truly yours,Engr. Jackson Ubaeke.
