"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

The lottery Board insured your won Cheque in a Bond. Be informed that we do not operate a cash on delivery service for parcels of this nature because of the required insurance. The reason why the lottery board insured your cheque in bond was part of security measures to avoid significant percentages of this money being deducted from several monetary bodies affiliated to the Financial Services Authority whose role is to oversee the transfer of such huge amounts, especially being lottery funds. Transferring the funds through a bond guarantee the safety of the money which remained intact till date

Your Cheque is protected by a hardcover insurance policy, which makes it impossible to make any deduction before it is remitted to you. This means that our courier charges cannot be deducted from the prize. This is in accordance with section(13)1n of the National Gambling Act as adopted in 1993 and amended on 3rd July 1996 by the Constitutional Assembly, this is to protect winners and to avoid misappropriation of funds.Do act accordingly and provide the requested information as soon as possible so that we can avoid any further delays in the delivery of your parcel. On acknowledgement of this email, I will furnish you with information on how to make the required payments. You will be required to sign for the parcel as soon as it is delivered to you thus we will need either a scanned copy of your international passport or your driver's licence for identification purpose.
