"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.

Subject: FROM MRS JULIA FANA

Randburg, Johannesburg,
Republic of South Africa.

I am Mrs. Julia Thassoma Fana ‘nee’ Oghale; widow of late Mr. Fredrick Dexter Fana. I got your contact information from my search on the net for a reliable person who is capable of handling a proposal of this magnitude, my late husband has made it that this proposal herein will be to the betterment of his family, and as a matter of fact the person to be the foreign partner will take good care of his investment and family as well. . During the crisis against the white farmers of Zimbabwe by the supporters of our President Robert Mugabe to claim all the white owned farms in our country, he ordered all the white farmers to surrender their farms to his party members and their followers. My husband was one of the massive farm owner in the country and knowing that he did not support the Presidents political ideologies, the president's supporters invaded our farm and burnt down everything, brutalized and killed him and confiscated all his investments, as well as physical assets. Before this unpleasant incident, my husband had already visited South Africa to deposit the sum of Eight Million, Four Hundred Thousand United States Dollars (US$8,400,000.00) in a safe vault of a Security and financial company here in Johannesburg, South Africa. In my husband's 'WILL' he stated that one of his partners overseas will take care of his family/properties. The attorney is waiting for my late husband's partner overseas who is to take care of his family/properties according to his WILL. Since no mention was made in the WILL as to whom the said partner is, I will be honored if you will assist me and my children to transfer this money out of South Africa. If you are willing to assist me and my children please kindly send me your personal telephone/ fax numbers so that I can give you all the necessary information and documentation that is regarding to this money my late husband deposited in the security company. Furthermore it has been resolved by my family that 25% of the total money shall be your share for presenting yourself for this purpose and assistance you will give in this regard, while 5% is mapped-out for the re-imbursement of all local and international expenses, which might be incurred in the transfer process. Finally the remaining 70% is for myself and my children, which a good part of this money shall be directed towards executing my husband's WILL, which is to buy shares and stocks in foreign countries including investments in other profitable areas in your country or any other country you will advise as profitable, in order to secure my children's future. To facilitate this transaction, you will please keep in touch with us so that this transaction will be rounded-up in the shortest possible time.
Note: This is the life of I and my children am trusting you with it. I want you to reciprocate the same trust, which I repose in you. Please kindly give this matter a prompt and quick response. I would advise that you please keep the confidentiality of this transaction because it’s very important for the safe keeping of I and my family here in the South African asylum camp. We look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible. May God bless you.
Best regards,
Mrs. Julia Thassoma Fana ‘nee’. Oghale.
