Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

As the only child of my father, before his death he informed me of the sum of US$8,700,000.00 (Eight million seven hundred thousand dollars only) which he deposited in a bank here in Coted Ivoire with my name as next of kin.

I want to travel out of Coted Ivoire and relocate, due to the insecurity posed by rebel activities here, with this money tranferred into your nominated account for investment in your country as my nominated beneficiary and guardian.
