"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: PLEASE CALL ME.

Dear Friend,

I am a citezen of Ghana as a UN Soldier on a peace keeping recovery
Unit in Liberia, during our visit to one of the prison in Monrovia, I met an
inmate who according to him was a minister in the former regime of
Charles Taylor who is currently facing trial in the war crime tribunal.
He explain to me that during the war in Liberia, he made away with the
total sum of $ 28 million USD which was meant to purchase more arms
to intensify the war in the country, but because of the soft spots he had
for humanity because the people were suffering he decided to divert
the fund to Ghana my country and deposited it with a private security
company instead of buying arms to destroy more life.
When he got back to Liberia, he was arrested and put in prison by
then ruling government, presently he is also going to stand trial for
supporting the government of Charles Taylor to causing war that
destroyed thousand of lives.
When he met me, because of the confident he had in me he pleaded
with me to go to Ghana or look for a reliable person that will go to
Ghana to retrieve the consignment and will also take his 2 children to
continue life with the person because presently he is not sure of
winning the case when he will be put to trial.
I am suppose to go retrieve the consignment and do as he said but
considering my status as a UN SOLDIER, I can't do this so that's why I
am contacting you to contact the security company as his foreign
partner, I’ll will forward to you the deposit documents that was given to
him when he made the deposit.
When you retrieve the consignment, I will then make arrangement for
the 2 children to meet you in your country so they can continue their
life with you as their adopted parent.
I am waiting for your urgent response to this mail so I can forward to
you the contact information of the security company and also the
deposit documents.
Once the transaction is concluded, I’ll come over to meet with you in
your country so we can decide on what % of the money I’ll be entitle to.
Regards
donald brown
