"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

I am Mr. Suleman Bello, the manager Audit & Accounts dept. in the African development bank (ADB). I am writing to request your assistance to transfer the sum of (25.200.000.000).Twenty-Five Million Two Hundred Thousand United States dollars) into your accounts. The above sum belongs to our deceased customer late Mr. John korovo who died along with his entire family in the Benin plane crash 2003 and since then the fund has been in a suspense account. After my further investigation, I discovered that Mr John korovo died with his next of kin and according to the laws and constitution guiding this banking institution stated that after the expiration of (5) five years, if no body or person comes for the claim as the next of kin, the fund will be channel into national treasury as unclaimed fund. Because of the statics of this transaction I want you to stand as the next of kin so that our bank will accord you the recognition and have the fund transfer to your account. The total sum will be shared as follows: 60% for me, 30% for you and 10% will be set aside for expenses incurred during the business.
