"419" Scam – Advance Fee / Fake Lottery Scam

The so-called "419" scam is a type of fraud dominated by criminals from Nigeria and other countries in Africa. Victims of the scam are promised a large amount of money, such as a lottery prize, inheritance, money sitting in some bank account, etc.

Victims never receive this non-existent fortune but are tricked into sending their money to the criminals, who remain anonymous. They hide their real identity and location by using fake names and fake postal addresses as well as communicating via anonymous free email accounts and mobile phones.

Keep in mind that scammers DO NOT use their real names when defrauding people.
The criminals either abuse names of real people or companies or invent names or addresses.
Any real people or companies mentioned below have NO CONNECTION to the scammers!

Subject: gold buyers wanted

My name is Nana Adu Kwateng, as the chief of my village it is my responsibility to look for gold buyers around the world. As it is done every year in my village, we have allocated 300 kilos of gold both gold bar and alluvial gold dust available, sell it and use the proceeds to help the community in acquiring social amenities and giving scholarship to students.

The price of the gold is $14000 and we are open for negotiation on price depending on the number of kilos you want to buy.
I have to inform you that we will not take any fees from you for any documents or other wise as the local community will take care of that.

To this effect we are inviting individuals and companies either to come down examine and buy or the gold would be shipped to you after the necessary memorandum are reached.

Furthermore an agent will deliver to the buyer’s destination and after delivery the total cost of the goods will be paid to the agent or to our accounts, we have these terms because of scam and buyers not trusting the seller with upfront payment. Based on this, the buyer will only pay for the shipping cost at the Airport.

Please do get back to us so that we can start proceedings on this matter of urgency.
Respectfully,
Nana Adu Kwateng
